Women's Pelvic

Physical Therapy

Holistic Pelvic Physical Therapy takes a look at all of you, not just your pelvis and is about way more than performing Kegals! I assess your alignment, pain and tissue integrity. I watch you breathe and move. I assess muscle, fascia and organ tension inside and out. In short, we'll cover everything head to toe! I'll also help you understand your pain; where it comes from (not where you think) and how to get rid of it.

(Yes, I heard a physician say that.)

YOU do not have to live this way.

I can help! I have taken hundreds of hours of specialty training in all areas of pelvic healthcare, movement education and pain sciences and I want to help you get back to your life.

Your treatments will include:

  • A Home Exercise Program (moving is the best medicine!)

  • Manual Therapy including myofascial mobilization, trigger point therapy, positional release, skin rolling, Gua Sha, joint mobilizations, visceral manipulation, cupping and nerve desensitization techniques

  • Lymphatic Drainage

  • Breath Re-Training

  • Positional Release

  • Meditation and Mindfulness Training

  • Self-Soft Tissue Release

  • A Bladder Diary if needed

  • Electrical Stimulation if needed

Please set aside up to 2 hours for the initial evaluation. We'll determine the frequency of your therapy after the initial evaluation.

How do you get Pelvic Floor Dysfunction?

Pelvic Floor Disorders can be the result of trauma to the pelvic floor (think birth, a fall), abdominal surgeries, pelvic surgeries, prolonged positioning, poor mechanics and alignment, chronic tension holding patterns, fear, sexual abuse, chronic inflammation, poor bladder and bowel habits, dietary imbalances or any of a number of combinations of the above.

What are some of the common medical diagnoses that may benefit from Pelvic PT?

Pelvic Pain, Urinary Incontinence, Pelvic Organ Prolapse, Infertility, Endometriosis, Painful Periods, Painful Intercourse, Diastasis Recti, Vulvodynia, SI Joint Pain, Hip/Low Back Pain, Pre- and Post-Natal Pain, Constipation, Abdominal Scars and Pain, Interstitial Cystitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome

I've told my Doctor about my pelvic dysfunction and they a). gave me an antibiotic, b). told me to relax, c). told me I needed to see a psychiatrist, d). told me it was all in my head, e). told me it's completely normal for a women who has had children, f). wanted to cut parts of me out or any of a number of other things. These are medical doctors; how can they not know what's happening and why should I believe you?

Most physicians have very little specialized training in pelvic floor muscles and dysfunction. And gynaecologists are typically trained to look at things from a pharmaceutical or surgical standpoint rather than a whole body neuromsucular approach. Physical therapists are specially trained health professionals in the fields of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular dysfunction and rehabilitation. And as a pelvic physical therapist, I have spent hundreds of hours outside of school learning all about pelvic dysfunction and rehabilitation of pelvic disorders. If you have seen other medical profesionals or physical therapists without results, please consider working with me. I can contact your physician for you for a referral.

Please contact me with any questions at 320.354.YOGA.

  • Diastasis Recti, or the excessive seperation of abdominal muscles, can be painful and be a source of self-esteem issues. I'll help you retrain the core from the inside out, no sit ups required.

These are full or multiple day sessions where we do a deeeep dive into you, your life, your stress, your dreams, your goals, jump starting your health and wellness transformation. You'll leave your VIP Intensive with practical, tangible routines that actually fit your life, not cause you more stress by having to change everything at once.

Simple, sustainable, consistent: the golden ticket to transforming your health and wellbeing starts with knowing how you want to feel, then creating space and embodying those feelings to live a life with meaning and purpose, a life that you were meant to live.

During these Intensives, we will spend a lot of time with hands on work, addressing circulation, inflammation, lymph, organ and nerve health, as well as musculoskeletal health. I will assess your positioning, chronic holding patterns, movement patterns and tissue integrity and health. I will offer you exercise, movement, breathing, mindfulness, BodyMind Coaching and nervous system care, understanding that your capacity for change is limited by how resilient your nervous system is. We will look at stress and trauma, your window of tolerance and how large that window is. We may choose to spread our Intensives out over several months to allow your nervous system the opportunity to adjust and change and grow capacity.

There are no hard and fast rules, only that you are open to learning and committed to doing the work. 1000% committed. This is the work, the hard stuff, looking at things we may not want to look at. You may need additional support to maneuver through this. Can you feel better without going deeper? Likely, yes. Will you heal if you don't go deeper? Likely, no, not completely. It's up to you. Know that, when you are ready to DO.THE.THING, make the change and motivated to go for it, I am here to walk with you through your journey.

Think of these Intensives as a VIP Experience with the focus 100% on your healing. VIP Intensives include exclusive access to me for full day or multi-day BodyMind Coaching session, bodywork, and assessments based on your goals including:

Leaking when you laugh, the inability to enjoy intercourse or spending a week on the couch each month due to pain is NOT normal and is NOT the price you pay for having babies or being female.
